Salary: £24,024

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, all year round. 9-5 Monday to Friday, but flexibility required to fit with the business needs (on call, weekends, evenings where required)

Contract type: 18-month contract, with options to become permanent.

Holiday: 28 days, including bank holidays.

Located: Unit D4, Phase 4, Plymouth Science Park, 18 Davy Road, PL6 8BX.

Reporting to: CEO and Founder.

Main purpose

The Inclusivity Group is currently recruiting for a Business Development and Events Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent organisational skills, who is passionate about access and inclusion and is looking for a role where they can create project manage company initiatives from initial idea development to implementation across our company.

This full-time role is suited to someone passionate about making events accessible for all, and making a difference, is able to work directly with clients, funders and to adapt to meet the needs to all businesses within The Inclusivity Group and interested parties.

This role is a varied role, in which each day could be completely different, so we are looking for someone skilled in managing their own time, prioritising workloads and willing to work as a team to achieve the best for our clients.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to demonstrate existing knowledge of the sectors in which we work, has knowledge around access, inclusion, and disability and has a strong passion for working to better accessibility to those with disabilities.

As part of this role, you will represent all companies within our group, meet new and existing clients, share knowledge about our service offering and champion our work.

Role Description

This role falls into the main areas, Business Development and Events Coordination. Below are some examples of projects and tasks which may be requested within each role projects.

Business Development Officer

  • Feed into cross-group projects – lead or assist in managing
  • Devise new business ventures, build and implement
  • Feed into Business Development Plan
  • Adhere to the health and safety procedures, risk assessments, etc., including fire regulations within the office
  • Engage with customers through email interactions, face to face, and remotely
  • Negotiate new client enquiries and implement contracting
  • Build and run the Access Audits
  • Projects as requested by the CEO/ Senior Management/ Undertaking other duties
  • To identify, nurture and develop key strategic partnerships
  • To maximise new and existing revenue opportunities
  • To meet and exceed financial performance targets, as set by Senior Management
  • To support the delivery of strategic planning processes
  • To identify and cultivate strong, new, local and national Business to Business (B2B) partnerships
  • To nurture existing strategic partnerships whilst maximising the opportunity for growth
  • To identify and pair client needs to The Inclusivity Group’s portfolio of products and services
  • To identify and develop new revenue opportunities for consideration by the Senior Leadership Team
  • To develop and maintain good communication with all departments, taking time to consider and understand the capabilities of the business and convert that knowledge into profitable sales opportunities
  • To contribute towards the setting of challenging yet realistic departmental financial targets
  • To provide an annual review for each company to present to the CEO
  • To strive to exceed financial targets by providing a diverse and profitable product offer
  • To contribute to and inform management and programme planning decisions from a Business Development perspective
  • To ensure thorough implementation of company policies, including, but not limited to, the collection and control of data, thus ensuring full compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

Events Coordinator

  • Event marketing through social media
  • To develop, maintain and nurture successful relationships with key stakeholders through attending appropriate networking events
  • Manage all theatre bookings, including BSL interpreted/captioned/audio description shows and the provision
  • Manage all access events – BSL/Captioning/ Festival/Events/ Music concerts/Access Coordination etc
  • To identify and analyse Client and Visitor trends and subsequently implement change where appropriate to support event growth and access
  • Secure new theatres and events/ partners
  • Coordinate, attend, and represent The Including Group at stalls, networking, and events across the country
  • Community engagement
  • To maximise revenue through the onboarding of corporate sponsors
  • To reinvigorate and grow local and national appetite for corporate venue hire

General Duties

  • Answer telephone calls and deal with queries, delivering messages to appropriate persons
  • General office administration
  • Agile working across all three companies (Complete Communication, Complete Training, and Complete Independence)
  • Cross sell/ connect service offered across the group
  • Manage event teams- alongside senior management
  • Utilising our Customer Relationship Management system and other systems to aid service provision

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant degree level education in related subjects (Psychology, Project/event management) – Desirable
  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Math and English – Essential
  • Related CPD training – First aid, Deaf awareness, etc. – Desirable
  • British Sign Language level 1, 2 or 3 of at least 1 year – – Desirable
  • Prior work experience within at least one of our service sectors – Essential
  • Worked in an office environment at senior level – Desirable
  • Experience in using CRM systems – Desirable
  • Evidence of practice in dealing with unpredictable or challenging individuals/situations – – Essential
  • Evidence of working within a service-providing business – Essential
  • An understanding of the arts and/or education sector – Essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Essential
  • Experienced in working with Apple based products – Desirable
